Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ 2020

The annual BASARA Vs Dove Pro summer feud gets even spicier this year with the addition of the Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ tournament! Itadaki is the yearly tournament to determine BASARA’s strongest wrestler. The inclusion of Dove Pro this year gives them their own name to use, the Heaven Summit ~Choten~. The end result is two tournaments being merged together. The first two rounds will be held on BASARA shows and the final rounds are on a Dove Pro show.

Spring Is Blooming But Everything Will Probably Get Cancelled Anyway

Who knows how much of this will stick in the next few days. I’m writing this while hearing the Olympics are likely to get postponed until next year. If that’s going down then no way does the pro wrestling schedule in Japan for the rest of the year remain unscathed.

Then again I’ve been struggling to follow BASARA ever since the split so I have to be missing the context for it.

Konosuke Takeshita, Chris Brookes and Yuki Ueno were going to be in Tampa along with the Tokyo Joshi Pro crew but that’s not happening now. The three of them will instead wrestle each other back in Japan. Show them what America will miss lads.

The 5th Match in the Okibariyasu series is going to be kick heavy. Saki Akai faces the freelancer Syuri.

1. Ganpro World Tryout: Shin Suzuki defeated E10 with the Besitanic (8:53).
2. Ganpro Specialty Special 3 Way Match ~HARUKAZE’s Close Call~: Kuishinbo Kamen & Kuishinbo Kamen (Shota) defeated HARUKAZE by Disqualification when HARUKAZE unmasked both Kamens (7:59).
3. Ganpro & GanJo Special Mixed Tag Match: Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi defeated Shinichiro Tominaga & Asuka when Katsumura submitted Tominaga with a Cross Armbreaker (12:29).
4. Ganpro Vs TTT Full Battle: Ken Ohka defeated Guts Ishijima with the Fire Spear (7:41).
5. Ganpro Vs Pro Wrestling BASARA Full Battle: Kouki Iwasaki & Washi Sakurai defeated Ryuichi Sekine & Tetsuo Usui when Iwasaki submitted Usui with a Texas Cloverleaf (12:56).
6. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) defeated Yumehito Imanari by TKO with the Double Arm Neck Lock (22:48).
*V5 for Keisuke Ishii.

A never say die attitude from Yumehito Imanari led to him having the match of his life. After a hard fight for over 20 minutes, Keisuke Ishii gave Imanari the Tiger Driver. Imanari didn’t respond so the referee began a 10 count. Imanari was able to get back to his feet on time but he couldn’t defend himself against Ishii’s next attacks. When the Double Arm Neck Lock was applied, Imanari was motionless and the match was called. Ishii has achieved the 5th defence of his current Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title reign. He gave Imanari credit and called him a wonderful pro wrestler.

Kouki Iwasaki came out to challenge Ishii next. He said Ishii always wins and that has made Ganbare☆Wrestling really boring. They are usually a tag team but Iwasaki wants to win the title from Ishii and stand in the middle of the ring as a symbol of Ganpro’s strength! Ishii reached out for a handshake but found himself ducking a High Kick from Iwasaki! Iwasaki left the ring smiling.

Washi Sakurai and Ryuichi Sekine had to be pulled apart after Match #5. They kept trying to attack each other even after Iwasaki had submitted Tetsuo Usui.

The feud between Ganpro and what’s left of the Real GUTS Army can be put to rest. Ken Ohka defeated Guts Ishijima in a clean and decisive manner.

Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi are continuing to dress up in THE HALFEE costumes and perform a song for their entrance. Asuka hit a big Moonsault onto them out of the ring. But back in the ring Katsumura caught Shinichiro Tominaga in a Cross Armbreaker. Tominaga tried to fight out of it until Haruhi landed a Double Stomp on him. Katsumura then tightened the Armbreaker until Tominaga gave up.

Shota disguised himself as Kuishinbo Kamen by wearing a similar looking mask. However he also wore a grey tracksuit instead of a costume similar to Kamen’s. After a collision with the Daisuke Kiso, Shota unmasked the real Kamen and threw the mask to HARUKAZE. Shota acted like he was also unmasked, despite still wearing a mask. When Kiso got back up he saw HARUKAZE holding the mask and disqualified her, rewarding the match to both of her opponents. HARUKAZE sat down in a chair to protest the result but the two Kamens lifted the chair out of the room with her still sitting on it.

The visiting E10 was described as “Now on honeymoon” during his introduction. Unfortunately he lost his match to Shin Suzuki so let’s hope the wife wasn’t around to see that.

At the start of the show Asuka announced she will be regularly wrestling in Ganpro starting from today.

The challengers have a battle plan in place. Danshoku Dieno wants to target Yuki Ueno. This will throw Ueno off because he was originally preparing to fight Cody Hall before he got canned. Ueno says he isn’t afraid of Dieno and won’t be intimidated by Dieno’s plan. Naomi Yoshimura meanwhile is confident that his size and strength will easily surpass that from Super Sasadango Machine.

A one day Current Blast Tag Team tournament is being held at the next Bakuha Koshien show. The Semi Final matches will each feature one exploding baseball bat while the final will contain two of them. Four teams will enter, one of them being the alliance between Atsushi Onita & Chris Brookes! Onita chose Brookes to be his tag partner after hearing he was a big fan of both himself and explosion death matches.

Ken Ohka, Yumehito Imanari and Yukio Naya will be on the show. Onita has said he will only wrestle Naya if they both make it to the tournament final.

MAO said he is honored to be competing for the KO-D Openweight Title less than 5 years into his pro wrestling career. Masato Tanaka has been wrestling since before MAO was born. MAO saw him for the first time on TV Asahi’s “World Pro Wrestling” television program back in 2010. He thinks Tanaka is one of the people who made him dream of becoming a pro wrestler so this will be a very special match. Also MAO believes the core of DDT is now made up of the DNA generation with Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo right in the centre. Winning the KO-D Title will make MAO join the centre. Tanaka wants MAO to deliver his strange brand of wrestling because he does not want to lose against that style.

The #STRONGHEARTS return to continue their business partnership with DAMNATION. They face ALL OUT with their honorary member Chihiro Hashimoto in an Elimination Tag match. Hopefully Yuki Iino has gotten over his problems with Hashimoto. Also Shunma Katsumata is back from his minor surgery. Elsewhere CIMA teams up with Soma Takao, who used to wrestle as BIMA in his college club days.

So much of the wrestling world’s attention will be on Japan this 4th January. For Gake no Fuchi Joshi to get some of that attention, they will need to put on a world class event that everyone would be proud to watch. To do this, the show will air live on Youtube with English and Spanish commentary options included (Shota will do the English commentary).

Chris Brookes is a completely new kind of opponent for Miyako Matsumoto. A really tall foreign male wrestler is something that Matsumoto has never fought before. Also Brookes has watched her previous Gake no Fuchi matches so he knows what kind of wrestling to expect from her. No rules have been decided yet but both of them like the idea of playing a game where they beat up Daisuke Kiso.

Matsumoto would like to hold Gake no Fuchi Joshi abroad in places like America and Britain. It would be affordable to do because the company only consists of one person (her) and everything else like the venue and opponent could be set up by a local promotion.

HARUKAZE has become confident in her ground game so she went looking for an opponent that could fit that aspect. Yuu with her judo background is the perfect choice.

Moeka Haruhi, Miss Mongol and Keisuke Ishii will be on the show.

3. FFF (Fundoshi For Future) Match: Ryuichi Sekine & Hoshitango Vs Yuki Iino & Yumehito Imanari ended in a No Contest (9:20).
4. Rounds Handicap Match: Hideki Sekine defeated Gota Ihashi & Keigo Nakamura by TKO when Sekine used a Bearhug on Nakamura (R4 1:49).
5. Sensual Novel Death Match: Naoki Tanizaki Vs Hiroshi Yamato (Special Referee: Danshoku Dieno) was won by Enya (19:33).
6. YaroZ-gun Vs Ikemen-gun All Out Battle!: Ken Ohka, Antonio Honda & Toru Owashi defeated Jiro Kuroshio, Makoto Oishi & Mizuki Watase when Honda pinned Watase with the Diving Fist Drop (12:48).

See if this sounds familiar. The Ikemen Army kidnapped the guest idol (this time it was Sakurako-san) and the YaroZ Army beat them in the main event to rescue her. The Ikemen refused to let her go but Cherry and Banny Oikawa entered the ring for the save. This time however Jiro Kuroshio and Makoto Oishi fought them off and said the usual YaroZ ending wasn’t going to be repeated. When all hope was lost, Yukio Sakaguchi entered the ring. He isn’t with BOYZ anymore so he is joining YaroZ today! Sakaguchi chased off the Ikemen Army and rescued the women. The YaroZ asked Oikawa and Sakurako-san to hang out with them after the show but they turned them all down. Cherry wanted to hang out though, specifically with Keigo Nakamura. He didn’t want to because he thinks Cherry is as old as his mother. Cherry didn’t care and she dragged Nakamura out of the ring.

The Sensual Novel Death Match had Naoki Tanizaki and Hiroshi Yamato reading erotica to Ryuichi Sekine after every 2 count pin or submission. Danshoku Dieno was there to help determine if Sekine was aroused enough to end the match. Unfortunately no amount of erotic storytelling could excite Sekine. As more stories were told, wrestlers and ringside personnel were getting aroused, even Dieno! Sekine was exiting the ring when an Enya song played over the speakers. That did it! Everyone was too aroused to do anything so the match ended with Enya as the winner.

Sakurako-san was on the show to be the round girl for the Handicap Match. She began fully dressed and took off a piece of clothing after every round. Hideki Sekine destroyed Gota Ihashi & Keigo Nakamura but all of the referees and other wrestlers did what they could to keep the match going and complete the striptease. Yuya Okada eventually had enough and ended the match when Sekine squeezed the life out of Nakamura with a Bearhug. Yukinori Matsui attacked Okada and wrestled him over the decision. Sakurako-san calmed everyone down by stripping down to her bikini. That was when the Ikemen Army kidnapped her.

The Fundoshi match ended in a No Contest when Yuki Iino was so excited from hitting the Spear that he tried to remove his loincloth. Matsui blocked him and called for the bell.
