6. Isami Kodaka Debut 16th Anniversary Memorial Match: Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita defeated Isami Kodaka & Naomichi Marufuji when Hidaka pinned Kodaka with the Iwami Ginzan (15:10).
7. Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ – Final: Ryota Nakatsu defeated FUMA with the V Slider (17:56).

Ryota Nakatsu defeated FUMA in a wild match to win this year’s Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~! The match found its way outside the ring a couple of time with FUMA Double Stomping Nakatsu along one of the rows. FUMA later climbed one of the nearby counters and jumped off so he could do the Heavy Metal Anthem. Nakatsu moved out of the way and FUMA landed on the floor. Both of them narrowly returned to the ring in time to continue fighting. Nakatsu avoided FUMA’s Jawbreaker Kick and blocked a Wrist Clutch Exploder to gain control of the match. Nakatsu then hit several Buzzsaw Kicks, a German Suplex and finished FUMA off with the V Slider to win. He thanked FUMA for the match and told him they will face each other again someday. Nakatsu received the 500,000 yen prize money and passed it over to Ryuichi Sekine. He then told everyone his next plan. He wants to challenge for the Union MAX Title at Korakuen Hall on 21st September! He knows Naoki Tanizaki is out there somewhere listening. He better be ready for him!

Isami Kodaka & Naomichi Marufuji did well teaming together but ultimately couldn’t overcome Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita. Kodaka & Marufuji did sandwich Knee Strikes to their opponents and Kodaka even did a Shirauni. Hidaka recovered to stun Kodaka with a High Kick and got the three count with the Iwami Ginzan Gutbuster. All four wrestlers shook hands after the match. Kodaka also appealed for a singles match with Marufuji. Backstage Kodaka and Marufuji joked about the idea. Marufuji said he doesn’t want to do it. Kodaka’s response was he won’t book Marufuji for his 20th Anniversary show. Marufuji said he will buy a ticket and come anyway. In all seriousness, Marufuji was honored to be chosen by Kodaka to be his partner for this big occasion. He doesn’t know if he will come back but Kodaka can always get in contact with him.

There were two gigantic matches with everything on the line today. Never mind the Heaven Summit Final or Kodaka’s Anniversary, there were wrestling names on the line! Tsutomu Oosugi had a busy day by being the referee for both matches. First up, Ryuichi Sekine got the upset victory over Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi. It took some effort but Sekine kept the former MAX Champion down with the Dragon Kick. The result means that Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi must now be renamed Trans-Am ★ Ryuji. He describes today as Armageddon but accepts his fate. He is already teaching the fans how to pronounce his new name.

The 2nd Name Contra Name bout had the stakes reversed. This time the loser between Best Stretchman V3 and Banana Senga would be forced to keep their name for the rest of their life! At first Oosugi didn’t know what side to take. Both wrestlers tried to make him pose with them only for the other guy to cut them off. When Senga pinned Stretchman with his feet on the ropes for leverage, Oosugi refused to count and told Senga he is judging this match fairly. Stretchman began taking the match so seriously that he stripped out of his costume and fought with even more spirit. He put Senga away with the Explosive Axe Bomber. Hercules Senga must now stay as Banana Senga forever! Senga accepted his fate until Stretchman changed his mind. Senga is no longer going to be a banana. Senga is now going to become a Stretchman! Senga protested but V3 knocked him out with the Trigger Point and carried him out of the ring laughing maniacly. Next month will see the debut of a third Best Stretchman! Backstage Gouma Ryu tried to stop them because without Hercules Senga around, the Pro Wrestling Trials no longer have a prosecutor.

Takuya Nomura’s first visit to BASARA saw him pitted against three of the more colorful characters in the Metal Family. He didn’t know what to think of Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi shrugging off his kicks with the power of yoga. Nomura & Manabu Hara’s kicks were able to leave a mark eventually but their reliance on doing them allowed both Hiroshi & Yusuke Kubo to vitally counter them with Dragon Screws. SAGAT withstood Fuminori Abe’s Octopus Hold and he hit the Goregrind to win one for the Metal Family.

Gouma Ryu relied heavily on Isami Kodaka distracting the referee to have even a slight chance of beating Yoshihisa Uto. The distractions meant the ref missed Ryu tapping out to a Crab Hold. He also missed Ryu hitting Uto with his law book. Ryu thought he had something when he successfully gave Uto the Running Neckbreaker Drop. It all came crashing down though when Uto cut him off with a Lariat. From there Uto picked up the win with the Reverse Tiger Driver.

The opener saw Takato Nakano & Akiyori Takizawa being fired up to take on the veteran team of Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano. The fire was there, the experience was not. Tsukamoto trapped Nakano in a nasty looking Crab Hold to end the match.

A classic ruleset is coming back for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title match. The match will run non-stop for 10 minutes and whoever is the champion at the end will be declared the winner.

The current Right To Challenge Gauntlet holders are Meiko Satomura (Red), HARASHIMA (Green), Akito (Yellow), Yukio Sakaguchi (Black) and Yuki Iino (Blue). Shigehiro Irie still thinks that the gimmick is unnecessary. It’s not that he hates the concept, it is because he will accept the challenges from anybody who steps up to him anyway. He wonders whenever the Gauntlet holders publicly tell everyone that they are not using their title shot if they even want to be a champion. And if they don’t want to be champion then why are they wrestling? If any of the holders want to cash in their shot straight after Irie’s match ends, he will still be ready for them. Irie always has two fights in him whenever he steps into the ring.

Irie has also criticised DDT for failing to evolve their comedy style over the years. He thinks Danshoku Dieno is partly to blame for that as the DDT Producer. Another problem is Irie’s plans for DDT aren’t coming to fruition like he was promised. He wants to defend the KO-D Openweight Title overseas but accuses Dieno of not doing anything in his power to help put it together.

Ryota Nakatsu admits he likes this version of FUMA a lot more than the King Legion version back from their Union Pro days. Nakatsu is confident he can win the tournament and spend all of the prize money on Cavalry.

Naoki Tanizaki won’t be back in BASARA until the 19th July because he has been doing a tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland. He defended both the Union MAX Title and DOVE World Title twice during his tour. On 1st July he defeated Terry Isit at a Wrestle Island show in Birkenhead, England. Then on 7th July Tanizaki achieved another successful double title defence this time against Martin Kirby at 3 Count Wrestling in Middlesbrough.

DDT is mixing up some ideas for this month’s “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI” episodes. First up they are bringing in death match specialist Masashi Takeda to take part in a crazy Falls Count Anywhere 4 Way Match. Kazusada Higuchi’s involvement guarantees a broken table or two. MAO also gets a little out of control in these kind of matches too. Konosuke Takeshita is kind of the odd man out but this is the sort of variety he’s been looking to get into since losing the KO-D Openweight Title.

HARASHIMA has both of his upcoming major opponents involved in his match. He teams with Antonio Honda a week before their DDT Extreme Title match. On the opposing side, Shigehiro Irie is ramping up the pressure against his next intended challenger.

The Timo Timo Timo Dragons are hoping that Ultimo Dragon will want to team with them. The unmasking stuff isn’t going to fly with him.

As soon as Isami Kodaka found out that singer Mari Yaguchi was the special guest for this episode he asked to be a part of the show.

It’s DAMNATION versus DAMNATION in the dark match. Okay, not really. Maybe some day Nobuhiro Shimatani can get officially added to the group as a proper member instead of a gofer boy.

The goal is to reach out and strip off the opponent’s bra. HARASHIMA won the first time but Honda has gained more experience in similar matches since then, winning one such bout at Sumo Hall in August 2015.

Instead their cousins Keiko Takeshita Jr., Akiko & Carousel❤Shun will come in to take on another set of DDT cousins in a match they will probably get away with calling a “joshi” bout.

The “DAMNATION DIVA” Asuka and “The Vengeful One” Alex Ace will be on the show. Ace is a 31 year old Spanish wrestler originally trained by Joe E. Legend and now learning his trade from Angelico. He is 209cm high and weighs 115kg.

The entire Up Up Girls organization turned up for this special crossover event with Tokyo Joshi Pro. The show was made up of matches featuring the Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) against four of the best that Tokyo Joshi has to offer. The Up Up Girls idol unit performed songs inbetween the matches and interacted with the Tokyo Joshi roster throughout the day. The Up Up Girls (Fake) crashed the show and tried to get involved too.

The end result for the challenge match series was 4-0 in favour of Tokyo Joshi. It was an emotional day for the Up Up Girls but they did the most that they could with their limited experience. Raku loves the way she fights in the ring and she almost cried when she entered the ring today. Hikari wonders how much she can grow around pro wrestling in the future. She was intimidated by having to wrestle Shoko Nakajima until Nakajima gave her some advice before the match took place. Her goal now is to overtake Nakajima. Hinano had her first ever singles match today. She definitely wants to become a necessary figure in Tokyo Joshi some day. Miu has been working desperately for the past year to answer a question she hears often, “What is Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling)?” She wants the answer to be “Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) is the best!”

It’s been a month since he won it but Shigehiro Irie is ready for his first KO-D Openweight Title defence. Kazusada Higuchi has been a thorn in his side in the build up to this match. Power Vs Power is to be expected here but some words from Higuchi suggests that something more will be needed to determine who wins.

How much can you take DAMNATION at their word? They promise not to cheat or interfere in the DDT Extreme Title Match for the sake of sportsmanship but other than that there hasn’t really been anything else put in place to enforce the stipulation.

KUDO is celebrating 15 years of being a pro wrestler but everyone else involved in the match have their own accomplishments from 15 years ago to celebrate from company debuts to tournament wins.

DDT’s website has given a run down on Sammy Guevara in preparation for his debut. He’s being put in the ring against Mike Bailey because he might go through the same road Bailey has been on during his DDT career so far. Guevara’s nickname of “The Best Ever” has DDT wondering if he can prove it. Whatever happens, this could be the start of a new Japanese dream for a foreign wrestler. I think they have high hopes for this lad.

A random draw held yesterday determined the matches. Miu had wanted a singles match with Miyu Yamashita so she is happy with the draw. A chance to wrestle the TOKYO Princess Champion will make up for her failing to qualify for the Tokyo Princess Cup. Yamashita doesn’t know what to expect from Miu. Her only focus is to defeat whoever is put in front of her. However Yamashita kind of sees Miu in the same position that she herself was in with Meiko Satomura last year. Yamashita obviously isn’t on Satomura’s level but the gap of experience here is kind of similar if on a smaller scale. Hinano says that whenever she fought Yuka Sakazaki in tag matches, she felt the atmosphere in the room change. She thinks Sakazaki is scarily fast and that is her strength. Shoko Nakajima is feeling nostalgic about this show because it reminds her of the early Tokyo Joshi Pro events that featured local idol performances inbetween the matches. She feels like she is just as much going to a music festival than she is going to a wrestling show. Hikari is currently the most experienced of the Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) after competing in the Princess Cup. She lost to Sakazaki but she is looking forward to wrestling the other member of the Miraclians one on one. Rika Tatsumi calls Raku the most beautiful looking girl in the Up Up Girls. She has a mysterious face that cannot be read. Tatsumi was also once a member of an idol group but was kicked out a month after their debut CD was launched. She thinks the Up Up Girls are in a better environment today than she was back then.

Yumehito Imanari launched his revolution to push himself up the card and loosen Ken Ohka’s monopoly of the main event spot in the process. It has led to Imanari winning more than usual and closing the distance while Ohka finds himself a little less relevant in his own promotion.

Keisuke Ishii already has a new challenger for the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title even if he doesn’t believe it. Ayumu Honda from K-DOJO came out at the last show to challenge him for a title shot. Ishii ignored the challenge until Honda attacked him. That somehow still didn’t get his message across but the title match will go ahead at some point anyway. Until then Ishii is teaming with Chikara to take on Honda and his fellow K-DOJO pal Kyu Mogami.

Kota Umeda has been one of the most featured wrestlers on “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI” since the first episode. However Makoto Oishi feels that he should be the star of the show. The two of them will fight over the claim. It’s a bigger deal for Oishi than Umeda though. Umeda has bigger fish to fry.

Kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa will be in attendance so he can kick Ken Ohka’s ass. This is not supposed to be a wrestling match, it is literally going to be Nasukawa kicking Ohka up the ass.

However Best Stretchman V3 booked at least two more final matches between him and Senga this month. He wants to do more and more feud ending matches with Senga from now until I suppose the end of time.

Producer Danshoku Dieno noticed a lot of different DDT wrestlers are celebrating 15 year anniversaries of some sort this year so he is gathering them all together for KUDO’s 15th Anniversary match. It is also 15 years since Dieno began wrestling in DDT, Masahiro Takanashi’s 15th anniversary of his debut match, Yukio Sakaguchi’s 15th anniversary of his first karate competition, Super Sasadango Machine’s 15th anniversary of becoming a trainee and Makoto Oishi’s 15th anniversary of his first pro wrestling accomplishment by winning the K-METAL LEAGUE in K-DOJO.

The four challenge matches on this show will pit one member of the Up Up Girls (Wrestling) against somebody from a select group of other Tokyo Joshi Pro wrestlers. The Up Up Girls side is of course made up for Raku, Hikari, Hinano & Miu. The Tokyo Joshi side is made up of Miyu Yamashita, Shoko Nakajima, Yuka Sakazaki and Rika Tatsumi. A lottery some time before the show will determine who faces who.

However there will be other people attending the show. More matches are planned with the rest of the Tokyo Joshi roster. The idol side of the Up Up Girls will also be there to perform and cheer on the wrestling side. Makoto Oishi wants to be involved and has formed his own version of the unit called Up Up Girls (Fake) with Hyper Misao and Yuki Kamifuku.
